No room at the shelter

The kennels have all been filled up and some of the dogs have been staying there for months.  The SPCA Auckland is running out of space.  There are only 66 adults and 63 puppies that have now found their homes.  During the past three months, there have been 405 adult dogs and 225 puppies that are taken to the Mangere animal village.
For some people, it is really hard when they cannot afford to feed and give shelter to these animals any more like how it used to be and also do not feel like they can have a choice.  During these times, whenever people are losing their jobs or just struggling to pay the bills, they do not even think about going to get a pet.  The owners are encouraged to desex their pets.  For example, if they need medical treatment and the owners cannot give these things to them.
